Driver Education
The first step to getting your driver's license for teenagers and adults. This provides a 30-hour classroom of driver's ed.
Haymarket is our headquarters. Our office at 14950 Washington Street #202 sits in Old Town Haymarket near Washington Street and Route 55, a few minutes from Bull Run Mountain Estates, Heritage Hunt, Dominion Valley, Piedmont, and Villages of Piedmont.
Because this is home base, Haymarket families get the full range of in-person options in one place: walk-in registration, driver education at the office, driver improvement on weekends, and behind the wheel pickup right at Battlefield High School.

Haymarket is our home base, which means instructor availability is strongest here. Our office is at 14950 Washington Street #202, right in town near Washington Street and Route 55, and scheduling usually starts within days of registration.
We pick up and drop off students at Battlefield High School for every appointment. Students in Bull Run Mountain Estates, Piedmont, and nearby Haymarket neighborhoods can also ask about alternate pickup. If you still need the classroom step, see the driver education section below.
Haymarket gives students a broader mix of road types than most suburban service areas. Training here can move from downtown streets to school traffic to interstate ramps and rural roads in one local cycle.
Our instructors know the local intersections, merge points, and problem spots in Haymarket. Students practice in the same areas they will continue using after they get their license.
7 appointments with a certified instructor, training vehicle, road skills test, and Driver Training Certificate (DTS-B) included. No hidden fees.
Register NowFor students who have failed the road skills test 3 or more times. Includes 12 hours of additional driving instruction.

Haymarket students can choose either the live classroom format at our office or the online driver education option. Both cover the same 30-hour DMV-approved curriculum. The in-person class is a good fit for students who want structure and a scheduled pace, while online works better for families who need more flexibility.
Because our office is in town, Haymarket families do not need a separate meetup point for the classroom course. Students come straight to 14950 Washington Street #202 for in-person sessions. The classroom course is the first step for teens under 18 before they can complete behind the wheel. Adults 18+ can also take it to waive the 60-day permit holding period and the DMV road test.

Most Haymarket teens follow the same sequence. They start with driver education, either in person at our Washington Street office or online if after-school sports and clubs make a fixed class schedule hard. From there, they work through the 45-hour practice driving log on local roads like Route 55, Heathcote Boulevard, and Route 15. Once the log is complete, they move to behind the wheel with pickup at Battlefield High School and finish the course in about a week. The final session includes the road skills test at the Manassas DMV.
Adults 18 and older skip the classroom requirement and go straight to behind the wheel. That path is especially common for Heritage Hunt residents refreshing their driving skills and for new Northern Virginia arrivals converting a license from another state or country. Either way, the in-car training happens on Haymarket roads with an instructor who already knows the area. Check out our teen license timeline for the full permit-to-license process.
Most driving schools treat Haymarket as the far edge of a Northern Virginia service map. We do the opposite. Haymarket is the headquarters, the original office, and the area our instructors drive every day. That shows up in three concrete ways.
First, our office is in Old Town Haymarket at 14950 Washington Street #202, not a regional pickup point. You can walk in, register in person, drop off paperwork, and attend driver education or driver improvement in the same building. Families from Heritage Hunt, Dominion Valley, Piedmont, Bull Run Mountain Estates, and Villages of Piedmont are all within a few minutes of the office.
Second, Haymarket has the strongest instructor availability of any area we serve, so scheduling usually starts within days of registration. We pick up directly at Battlefield High School for every behind the wheel appointment, which means teens can go from class straight to lesson without another round-trip across town.
Third, the lesson routes are built around the roads Haymarket students actually use: Route 55, Heathcote Boulevard, James Madison Highway (Route 15), the I-66 ramps at Exits 40 and 43, and the Manassas DMV approach via I-66 East or Route 29. If you are comparing options, our Gainesville, Bristow, and Warrenton pages describe how we set up each of those areas. The Haymarket version is the one that runs directly from our headquarters, with the shortest path from registration to a scheduled start.

The 8-hour DMV-approved driver improvement course is available in-person at our Haymarket office on weekends (roughly every other week) or online anytime at your own pace. Both options cost $100 and satisfy court-ordered requirements, DMV referrals, and voluntary point reduction. Your completion is reported to the DMV within 24 hours.
Since our office is in Old Town Haymarket, the in-person class is a good fit for residents across Haymarket, Gainesville, and Bristow who prefer a single scheduled day over self-paced online work. Learn about removing demerit points or how the course satisfies court-ordered requirements.
Choose in-person at our Haymarket office or online anytime. In-person registrations are confirmed by phone; online registrations get instant access after payment.
Our online Driver Improvement Course is the same DMV-approved 8-hour program, and you can complete it at your own pace from any computer. After payment, you will receive an email with everything you need to start.

They can retake it. If a student fails once or twice, we offer additional practice sessions before the retest. If a student fails three or more times, Virginia requires a behind the wheel re-examination ($550), which includes 12 hours of extra driving instruction. Read our guide on what to do after failing.
