Your Gainesville Driving School

Gainesville is one of the fastest-growing communities in Prince William County, and it's one of our largest service areas. Abba Driving School has been serving Gainesville families since we opened in nearby Haymarket in 2007. The two towns sit just minutes apart along Route 29, so our instructors spend a good portion of their week working with Gainesville students.

We offer all three DMV-certified programs to Gainesville residents: behind the wheel driving lessons, driver education, and driver improvement. For behind the wheel, we pick up students directly at Gainesville High School on Heathcote Boulevard.

Gainesville's busy traffic corridors along Lee Highway and Linton Hall Road provide excellent real-world driving practice. Students who train here get comfortable with heavy traffic, complex intersections, and shopping center parking lots before they ever take the road test. Families in Heritage Hunt, Virginia Gateway, and the neighborhoods along Linton Hall Road all use our school.

Driver's License Fast-track for Adults (18+)

Adults normally must hold their Learner's Permit for at least 60 days before they can take the Road Skills Test and receive their Driver's License. This waiting period can be skipped by completing a DMV Approved Driver Education program for adults, and Behind the Wheel. Upon completion, you will be given a certificate that can be redeemed for your license at the DMV.

Driving in Gainesville

Gainesville is one of the busiest areas in western Prince William County, with heavy traffic corridors, shopping centers, and quick highway access. New drivers here deal with real traffic from day one.

  • Lee Highway (Route 29) - One of the most-traveled roads in the area, carrying commercial and commuter traffic between Gainesville and Haymarket. Multi-lane sections, stoplights, and overhead signs make this a challenging corridor.
  • Linton Hall Road - A major east-west route through the heart of Gainesville. Heavy traffic near schools and shopping centers, busy intersections, and frequent turn lanes.
  • Virginia Gateway - A large shopping center with parking lots, pedestrian crossings, and tight connecting roads. The kind of commercial driving environment that new drivers encounter constantly.
  • Heritage Hunt and residential areas - Quieter streets with lower speed limits, stop signs, and cul-de-sacs. Most of the everyday driving that Gainesville residents do happens on roads like these.
  • I-66 - Gainesville sits right at the I-66 interchange. The interstate connects the area to Manassas, Centreville, and the rest of Northern Virginia, so comfortable highway driving is essential here.

Gainesville's traffic keeps growing, so learning to handle busy roads, parking lots, and highway driving close to home is the best preparation for getting your license.
